The Barbados Horticultural Society has been cultivating indigenous trees to plant in our arboretum area of 7.6 acres. Part of this has flowering trees of many types, another area has large trees such as Mahogany and Poui and a third area is being planted with Bajan fruit trees such as Cherries, Guavas and others.
We at the Barbados Horticultural Society are very concerned with the shaping of the ecology of our planet and we are striving to proceed as rapidly as possible with our arboretum. Any suggestions or donations of trees would be welcome. In years to come this would be a lovely area for all to wander, spend an afternoon or relax.
